Teaming with McGuire Development and Buffalo Development Companies, Kideney Architects was awarded the commission to design the expansion of Buffalo Public Schools’ popular Emerson Culinary High School. Adjacent to the existing school, the concept involved renovation of the historic Miller Livery building at 75 West Huron Street, a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed for 450 students, the program includes a full academic High School plus working commercial training kitchens, a full restaurant, a retail shop, and a full gymnasium addition built over the parking area that can be utilized by both the new and existing schools.
