SALAMANCA, NY
The Seneca Nation of Indians commissioned Kideney Architects in association with Two Row Architect to design a new headquarters. This building, completed in March 2010, encompasses the executive, legislative, judicial and administrative functions of the Seneca Nation’s Allegany Territory, and serves as a center for Seneca culture. The design of the Allegany Administration Building is welcoming to the public and conveys a sense of civic pride through a strong representation of cultural values. The design team introduced natural materials such as wood, stone, and quarry tile to construct the Administration Building. The result is a warm and welcoming facility that avoids the institutional feel common in other administration centers.
